Are you a local company?
Absolutely! This is one of the first questions you should ask when hiring a nuisance wildlife removal company. Internet referral websites have made it very easy for companies to mislead property owners as to their actual location. Be cautious of hiring a company that claims to service our area, but may actually be located near Milwaukee or Madison. Fox Valley Wildlife Control is located in Appleton. The Fox Valley is where we live, work and provide responsive service throughout our community.
Are you insured and licensed?
Yes. The professionals at Fox Valley Wildlife Control are licensed with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for wildlife removal. In addition we are licensed and certified by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Consumer Protection, and Trade. We hold a Commercial Applicators License for the purpose of providing rodent and insect control.
Our technicians are also certified by the Wisconsin Wildlife Control Operators Association, the National Wildlife Damage Management Academy, and by Bats, Birds & More.
Do you charge for your services?
As much as we love our job, yes we still have to charge for our services. Fox Valley Wildlife Control is an independent and full-time business. We have expenses that need to be paid just like any other business. Fuel to keep our trucks on the road, insurance to protect ourselves and our customers’ property, equipment and supplies, and advertising and marketing are just a few of the expenses that need to be paid. We understand that being faced with an unplanned expense such as wildlife removal can be difficult. We will try to work with you to provide an affordable solution to your problem.
Is there anybody I can call for free service?
Most municipalities do not have the resources to provide wildlife removal services. It takes a significant investment in equipment, knowledge, and time to provide the many different types of wildlife services that Fox Valley Wildlife Control offers. Municipal and county agencies are unable to provide such services at no cost.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Most of our customers pay for our services with a check. But for your convenience we also accept major US-issued credit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Of course cash is also accepted.
How do I know how much it will cost to solve my problem?
For most nuisance wildlife removal services we can provide you with a firm quote over the phone. We don’t charge a fee for checking traps each day. And in most instances we don’t charge a per animal fee. Naturally there are exceptions if a litter is involved. But you usually have a pretty solid idea of what it is going to cost to remove the animals. Nobody likes surprises at the end of the job.
For any damage repair or exclusion services we can provide you with a quote once we’ve done an on-site inspection.
Limited access, multi-story buildings, difficult landscape to work around and other factors can also influence the final cost.
How long will it take to get these critters out of my home?
Most nuisance wildlife removal jobs are usually completed in about a week. However, variables such as the type of critter, the number of critters, where they’re gaining access, and the time of the year can affect how long it may take to provide a complete solution.
Can you pick up some baby bunnies that I found in my yard?
No, we are not a wildlife rehabilitator. Organizations and individuals must be licensed by the state to offer wildlife rehabilitation services. There are several “rehabbers” in the Fox Valley who you can contact for help. You will find a list here.
Can you help an injured animal?
No, this is another job for a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. We do not have the license, facility or knowledge to care for an injured animal or bird. You will find a list here.
Do you release the animals that you catch?
Most of the animals we remove are relocated to property with proper habitat. Wisconsin state law requires that we release animals on property where we have written permission from the landowner, or that they be humanely euthanized. It is against the law to release animals on public land. Whenever possible we like to see animals live where they are not going to become a nuisance for another property owner.
Do I have to be home when you stop?
We always try to schedule the initial service call at a time when we can meet the property owner. We want to meet you and learn about your wildlife problem in person. You are the best source of information that is going to allow us to solve your problem as efficiently as possible. After the first visit you do not need to be home when we stop to check traps or remove the problem critter. The one exception is if we have to set a trap on the inside of a building. We do not enter homes without somebody being there.
Do you work on the weekends?
We do work most weekends. If a property owner can only meet on a weekend we will do what we can to accommodate their schedule. If we have traps set, those traps need to be checked each day as well, that’s the law.
Do you also offer pest control services?
Fox Valley Wildlife Control offers many types of pest control services. We handle many rodent issues including problems caused by mice, rats and voles. Our rodent services include trapping, baiting and exclusion work. We also spray homes for spiders. The spray we use is labeled for safe use around people, homes, and pets and can help manage problems caused by many types of insects.
